Cluster beans stirfry

250 gms Cluster Beans (washed and torn into 1 inch long)
1 small onion (chopped)
3 Green chillies (Slit)
Few strands of Curry leaves
1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
1/4 tsp Urad dhal
2 tbsp freshly grated coconut
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
Oil for seasoning
salt to taste

  • Bring about 2 cups of water to a boil, add few pinches of salt, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and cluster beans. Boil till the cluster beans are almost 3/4 done. Strain and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a wok, splutter the mustard and urad dhal then add the onion, chillies and curry leaves. Fry for 1 min.
  • Then add the cluster beans and salt. Stir fry, cover and cook for 3 mins.
  • Then add the grated coconut and stir well to combine.
  • Serve it hot with steaming rice and sambar.
